I'm new here, so my apologies if this is the wrong list. I'm having a problem with certain screens not displaying part of their text. The text in question is usually the first couple lines of the screen (with the rest appearing normally). It only happens on a few screens, but I can't find any reason for it. The same screens display normally in the IBM emulator or if I connect via a raw telnet session. Any ideas? Version of tn5250j is tn5250j-0.6.2. The problem occurs on both Windows (XP Pro) and Linux (Ubuntu 10.10).
I've attached screen shots comparing the output between the two emulators. I've run the emulator from console with logging set to debug, and not seeing any errors. Is there any additional info I could provide that would help? umpf, the screenshots are looking strange. I would like to get a connection on this machine, to fire up my debugger and see, what's going on. But I guess that this is not possible, isn't it? So I would like you to send me the bytes I'm looking for. Please download and install Wireshark(.org) network analyzer. Start a capturing session in _not promiscuous mode_ (otherwise you may run into trouble with you lawyer) and set the filter to port 23. Open Client Access and connect to machine. You should now have captured the bytes from your as400's login screen. Stop capturing in Wireshark, save it and send me the captured data. As long as you don't do other things, I only will get the data from the login screen, no passwords nor other sensitive data. And please, what is the system's CCSID (QCCSID sysval)?
