Yeah, it's mentioned that she inherits rather a lot from Lavinia, basically she leaves her everything, so she's actually pretty rich now.

Yeah, it's mentioned in one of the audios that Brendan is in Sillicon Valley - think it might be Ghost Town? Whichever one it is where Sarah tells Josh she's sold Morton Harwood.

Yes she did jump from one emotion to the next in School Reunion didn't she.......shock, sadness, anger, joy, nostalgia, resentment............it was all there I guess.

Thanks for your take on the audios. I have never heard them and probably never will so I don't mind anyone telling me what's in them. I like your Harry theory. Bermuda Triangle perhaps. :-)

I'd like to see the photos back in her attic though. At least the one of Harry and perhaps one of Aunt Lavinia too and even the parents. Is Brendan really in San Fransisco? He'd be a good one to get to visit in SJA. Why did he go there?

I'd also like to see more of Sarah's house and garden. It's a really cool house. I'd love a tour.

I find School Reunion to be contradicting, one minute Sarah is all "I thought you died!" and the next, "I knew you were on that Spaceship over London at Christmas."
But then, I suppose if you haven't seen some one for thirty years, you'd become emotional too.
(Although, she must have known he can't have been that dead, I mean, he sent her K9 around 1981)

And as for the audios, well, I don't take them to be canon, but rather take certain aspects of them to be canon (and warning: potential spoilers ahead)
I believe that Sarah did know two people called Josh and Nat and did some investigation type stuff with them, Aunt Lavinia has died, Brenden now lives in San Francisco, Sarah sold Morton Harwood, Harry went out to sea and has not been seen since and I'm even willing to accept that Sarah is part of some Doomsday cult (well, some of the time).
But as for Dreamland? It never happened in my fanon.

Although, it may have happened to an AU Sarah, which I'd be more willing to accept.

That's partly what I love about this fandom, it's so open to personal interpretation.

Cool thoughts. I agree with the guilt tripping on the Doctor. One thing I did like in that ep was the way she spoke to him as if they'd never been apart. Not above guilt tripping or telling him off. "Where's K-9? Where is he? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???" I'm glad they did change the ending from being totally sad as they'd planned and decided to add the happy K-9 twist.

I know nothing about Josh and Natalie. Only heard about them from reading DW mag and internet stuff. I too tend to think that if ES has played Sarah then that must be cannon. I don't know where I ever heard about the orphan + Aunt Lavinia bit but I always knew that about her right from the start. Must have read something in a TV mag yrs ago. I actually am happy so far with what RTD et al are doing with her in SJA. They do seem very careful not to make any cannon mistakes because everything they do can't ever be undone. So far so good.

Well, a lot of the stuff in the profile on this site comes from a Doctor Who Magazine special that had a detailed biography of Sarah, which is the closest to official there's ever really been. Also I think the production team actually did have it in mind that she was orphaned and raised by Aunt Lavinia, even though it was never mentioned onscreen.
As to what's 'proper canon', I guess it depends on your point of view. If we're being really picky about it then only official TV stuff is canon, but I tend to go with the idea that anything where Lis Sladen played Sarah is canon. I think the writers of SJA are considerate enough not to contradict the audios, even if they can't actually refer to them because of licensing stuff or whatever.
Yeah, I'd love to hear more about Sarah's back story and what she's been up to, it would be great if they'd explore that a bit more in SJA!

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I think they had to do that for the episode to work the way it did. The way I rationalise it is that, of course she wasn't pining all that time, and she did get on with her life, but seeing him so suddenly again after all that time probably made the feelings she originally felt come rushing back. Also, I don't think Sarah is above guilt-tripping the Doctor a bit, so she was probably laying it on a bit thick anyway. And also, in my head-canon, Josh and Nat had just moved to America the week before, so she was just a bit emotional that week anyway! But of course I don't expect anyone else to go along with that... :P

Does anyone have any desire to know about Sarah's life? Is there a reliable source out there where this has been chronicled? I know there is one version of her life to be found on the net but I'm not sure I like that version because it seems to be one person's view and I wonder if there is an official biography for her from the old producers of the show, the bbc or someone? From "What ever happened to Sarah Jane" we have an age....13 in 1964 [a good year] so that makes her born in 1951. That works for me and now I guess that is official cannon thanks to RTD. She went to that school with Andrea......what else?

Also I'd like the new series to address some of the time she spent travelling around the world in the last 30 yrs. Are the audio stories considered proper cannon as well? She seems to have spent some time in Sth America due to the many artifacts she has in her house. And she has a geologist friend who sent her Mr Smith. I'd like to see some more evidence of the fact that she hasn't been a hermit all these years and in fact does have Scientist friends, friends in the city, a geologist friend etc etc. And it would be nice to think that she has actually had the odd boyfriend over the years, even though nothing ever came of it. It really disappointed me in School Reunion when they made her out to be a poor pathetic lonely soul who had spent her life waiting for the Doctor to return. To me Sarah has always been a strong independent person and I"m glad they've shown this in SJA.

Anyone else as curious as me about all this stuff?

oo i know when the last one was, i love that quote too. It was K9 speaking in K9 and Company , that is soo cool i heard bad stuff about the show but i thought it was awesome and i wish it was out on DVD, Sarah was brilliant in it.

There are many quotes that I like, from Sarah, to Sarah and about Sarah.

My favourite quote begins with "I'll never be warm again. Never, ever, ever!!! ............"and ends with "..........til we meet again Sarah.........mmm hmmm" Basically the entire speel from Hand of Fear at the end.

I also love: "Harry.....call me old girl again and I'll spit in your eye."

"Oh don't be offended..... but this isn't the first time I've had a gun pointed at me. And guns from other planets. Oooooo 'fraid I've rather lost count."
