Everything was back to normal for Takato Matsuki right now that all the Digimon are staying within their world. Although he misses the adventures he had with Guilmon. But today is the beginning of yet another adventure in a world other than the Digital World.
While walking home from his school one day, he notices his friends Henry and Rika standing in a line near the card shop. Takato then walked up to them and said, "Hey Henry, Rika! What's with the line." Henry told Takato "Apparently, there is a new card game available." Rika then added, " This new card game is called Chaotic. I heard that no cards are the same as each of them has a unique code, which means no battle even with the same type of cards is unique. Also, this thing also has an online version of the game. Seriously, who ever made this probably got kick off the Digimon team". Takato then thought about trying this card game to see how if it is better than Digimon, then he entered the line. Unfortunately, by the time Takato and friends had entered the store all starter decks and Scanners were sold out. Takato then continued home, slightly disappointed by not being able to try something new. When Takato arrived home his mom called out to him, "Takato! Someone sent you a present! I put it in your room." Takato then wondered who would send a present to him at this time while he climbed the stairs to his room. When he saw the package, there was no note or any indication of whose it from. Takato then proceeded to take off the wrapping and open the box. Inside the box was a deck of cards, a rulebook, and a device that somehow was fashioned to fit his Digivice. He then noticed on the cover of the rulebook, that all of this is for Chaotic. Takato was delighted and puzzled at the same time. He decided to call Henry and Rika and tell them of his mysterious present. "Hello?" said Henry over the telephone. Takato then told Henry, "You won't believe this, but someone sent me a package that has all the stuff to play Chaotic! But the weird thing is that in the box there is also a device that seems made for our Digivices."
"Huh, that's strange. I also got a package with no name that contains all the stuff that you have. Then I called Rika and found out she also got the package as well."
"Wait a minute. I know that it could be anyone who bought a deck and software, but I don't know whom in the world made a device that was designed to fit our D-Powers?"
"Don't know maybe we could talk about this in the park tomorrow."
The next day Takato set off towards the small shack in the park. However, he discovered that he arrived early, thus started to check out the burrow Guilmon made. Although he had discovered a portal to the Digital World there, it seemingly disappeared over the course of time. Thus, leaving him only with memories of his life as a Digimon Tamer.
Footsteps were then heard approaching the shack, and turns out to be his friends."Hey, what took you so long?" said Takato jokingly. Rika sarcastically said, "A Digimon didn't run on a rampage that's what." Henry reminding the other two said, "So do any of you wonder who may have sent these to us?" Takato replied, "I have no idea, maybe secret admirers.", then chuckled. Rika then said, "Seriously, who would've had crush on you or any of us." "Well since we are here we might as well learn to play this game,” said Henry.
Suddenly, digging sounds started to come out of the hole in the ground. Henry surprised "Hey, what in the...what's going on?” Then a voice from the shouted, "Henry, is that you?"
Recognizing that voice, Henry shouted back "Terriermon?"
"Henry!"
Then two other voices joined in "Hey, is Takato there?" "What about Rika is she with you?" Takato then shouted into the hole "Guilmon, are you trying to get out of there?" Rika responded, "Renamon, I'm here with Takato and Henry."
Then the head of a red dinosaur-like Digimon popped his head out of the hole, however he was struggling with a yellow fox-like Digimon and a small Digimon with big ears.
Renamon annoyed, "Get back Guilmon!"
Guilmon talked back, "No way, I made this-!"
Terriermon interjected, "Hey, I was the first to hear them, let me get out of here first!"
Then after some struggling all three Digimon stumbled on top of the Tamers. Takato confused "Whoa! What you three doing here!" Guilmon told Takato "Well it started when Renamon and Terriermon and I decided to try and visit you.” Rika said, “Wait, why would you suddenly decided to visit us?” Renamon replied, “The reason is that that Digital World is starting feel a bit incomplete.” Terriermon then added, “Basically we miss you guys.” “Henry then said, “Oh wow, well how did you get back, the portal closed a long time ago.” Terriermon told Henry, “Well you see the portal never closed. Since the time we were separated, the Digital World changed a lot. We came here through..."
Out of nowhere, Takato’s cell phone rang. Takato then answered it, “Umm, hello?” The caller said, “It’s been a long time Takato.”
“Who’s this?”
“You know the guy who tried to send your friend back to where he came from, your friend who just got back to you.”
“Mr. Yamaki? Ok how did you get my number?”
“You know that spying business that Hypnos does? We’re still doing it.”
“Oh great” said Takato in a flat tone, “So why did you call me?”
“Takato, I am to be with you in person soon. I need to talk to you about your friend’s reappearance in this world.” Then the call was hanged up. Takato after putting away his cell phone, told Henry and Rika about Yamaki coming here. Henry said, “Wait what Mr. Yamaki, we haven’t seen him in like three years. Why would he suddenly talk to us-” Rika reminded, “Takato said he wanted to tell us something about our Digimons coming back.”
Slowly, the rumbling of a car engine was heard. The three then looked outside the shack and saw a black van. The door of that van then opened and Yamaki stepped out wear his usual opaque sunglasses. Yamaki then walked into the shack and sat down for a talk. He began with a greeting “Hello Henry. Hello Rika. Alright what have to tell you is brief and simple, and you mustn’t ask any questions.” The three then looked at him a face wonder what his about to say. Yamaki continued, “You three mustn’t let your Digimon, be seen by anyone other than your friends and family. The rest of the world has forgotten the existence of real Digimon and will react in panic if you let them be seen.” Takato then asked, “Hey, what do you mean forgotten? The world knew of them the moment you ripped that hole in the sky to the Digital World!” Yamaki then forcefully said, “Look Takato! Do not let Guilmon be seen in public ok! The world has forgotten!” Rika then yelled, “Alright, tell us how the world forgot!” Yamaki then became distressed “Look, I can’t tell you it is part of… a truce. Also, no more questions just do what I tell you!” Henry said, “What do you mean truce, with whom? Why?!” By that time Yamaki was stepped back into the van drove off. The three then calmed down and began conversation with their Digimon once more. Takato then began with, “Hey Guilmon checkout this new card game, its called ‘Chaotic’.”
