Dear Calendarists:
I neglected to mention earlier that 3 months ago I received word that the new Sanhedrin in Israel has started a new web page about reform of the Hebrew calendar, and they have linked to one of my web pages!
On 2009 May 26, at 06:14 , the Sanhedrin Webmaster wrote:
The web page of mine that they linked to is about the seasonal drift of the traditional Hebrew calendar, and the bottom section of the page discusses the 353-year leap cycle that would fully correct the seasonal drift.
Perhaps the Sanhedrin is not so interested in my analysis of the traditional molad calculation, nor my progressive molad. Instead they linked to the web site of the Israeli New Moon Society, which is devoted to first lunar crescent observations and are very determined to reinstate observational determination of month starts. Higher up on their web page linked to above there are links to monthly witness testimony details, which at present is only an exercise, for it has no ritual or calendrical impact yet.
