Yes, as if we didn't all talk about her enough, here's yet another place to gab endlessly about Sarah Jane!
At the moment I'm just testing this baby, working out what it does, so what I really need is for lots of people to register and start posting messages so that I can work out the kinks!
To that end, the first ten people to register and hit twenty-five messages (and I mean real messages, posting the same thing repeatedly does not count...) will upon request receive a special hand-made Sarah Jane-related item. There will also be badges to put on your blog and that sort of thing, for early joiners and frequent posters. Don't say I never do anything for you!
To start using the forum, click on one of the Child Forums below and then click on 'Post New Message', or click on one of the existing threads below those, to see what's already been said and post replies.
Have fun!

Here's hoping!!
I'm just wondering if there's room for a page dedicated to Sarah Jane's hairstyles over the years? There have been quite a few! What do you think? I don't know how it would fit in with the site structure, like where it would go or if it's just be cool to have more hairstyle mentions in the episode profiles.
PS I love that she's kept her hair long, Far too many people get their hair cut shorter and shorter as they get older!! ES proves you can have really nice long hair over 60!!

Ayup,

Its been a bit cool and wet here in Tassie, so last weeekend we watched Death to the Daleks.

The early scenes on Exxilon are tense as the TARDIS lands and the Doctor and Sarah venture out onto the planet's surface in the night....

Seeing our Sarah in her bathing costume was good though, quite a raver actually.

Question: In episode 3, has anyone ever seen or could assist in finding clear images of the city symbols on the walls and the maze as well.
I've a fondness for mazes and I've tried to pause the video but it would help if one had complete images.

Perhaps a job for Llin and the crew ?.

Perhaps when it eventually appears on DVD, there may be something in the photo gallery as I've seen a few snippets off camera from this story in the studio.

Overall the story is very good and still is tense and is well filmed in Dorset I think.
I recall seeing it many times as a lad on the farm here in Tassie, most exciting and its a pity the story isn't remarked upon more as I think its a ripper!.

Let me know about those city symbols and maze .

I saw some spiffy images of our Lis of late on
http://www.ebay.co.uk

Item no.
330315626849
320348621249

The latter is some natty art of Lis and the former two show her looking most dishy and thoughtful.

Also,
http://media.photobucket.com
Has some good ones of Lis,

Just type in her name in the search box and up comes a gallery.
I like her wearing an off the shoulder spanish style dress.

They all look like they were photographed after her time on Dr Who and as this is a wardrobe site............

Finally, Yes I agree with friend Stardoe on the commentaries and the rabbitting on by the technical crew.
The worst I've heard is the one for the Sea Devils and the director Michael Briant (was it?) who just wouldn't shut up.
Most off putting and unseemly.

Agreement vis a vis Pertwee.
Perhaps the best Doctor and sadly missed, especially so in the DVD era.
The stories he could have told and the humour he imparted.

Western society has become more ugly and cheerless when chaps like Pertwee depart and leave us worse off.
Nowadays we're assaulted in so many, many areas by unwanted and brutal Americanism, and what a mess society and the world has become.
Chaps like Jon Pertwee remind us of another way, to my mind at least, thats better.
A great man, missed even today.

see you on Exxilon

Sounds good. Can't wait for the new series. I do hope they change Sarah's hair for it. I really really hate that cut off paige boy one from last season. She needs a more softer do. As for the DVDs, I was hoping for Seeds of Doom. I really like that one. I'm not fussed on Planet of the Spiders because Jon Pertwee is not there for the commentary. Shame DVDs weren't out before he left us. His commentaries would really have been worth the listen. What I don't like about many commentaries is that the producers etc talk over scenes that I'd like Tom and Elisabeth to talk about. I think some of my favourite scenes have been marred because I've wanted to hear what the actors had to say about it and some director has been carrying on about the lighting. I like the way they put the other guest actors in though. But sometimes Elisabeth is hard put to get a word in......and they say women talk. It would be good to include some Pertwee footage and intreviews from the past if they do Spiders. I really liked him.

Hello SJS people,

I've been looking at the DVD schedule for this year in terms of our Sarah and from what I can see, the selection is rather spare.
Indeed the highlight for me, will be the Pertwee combo; Frontier in Space and Planet of the Daleks, however I can't see any stories with our Sarah this year unless the last un-announced story brings up something.
I hear that some form of 'Black Guardian' box set is a possibility near years end, but there is talk that the last story of the year may yield a Sarah story.
Some say, Planet of the Spiders is on the cards as a commentary was done in February '07 (they say).

Basically anything with Sarah would be good.

Does anyone have any news or information on the DVD schedule thats more accurate?.
Please let us know.

Hello!

Every year I go to a family-friendly New Year's Eve party where everyone plays board games and card games. This year, I printed off the UNIT Christmas game and brought that with me. I taught the kids (ages about 6 to 11) at the party how to play it, and they enjoyed it. They were all familiar with the new Dr. Who, but not with the classic series, so they were a little confused about the characters. I guess they thought the Brigadier looked like a fireman, because they kept calling him "the firefighter." :) They all enjoyed the game, especially the bit about hunting maggots. :)

Thanks for the game, and for the Advent Calendar as a whole!

As this is the only Christmas line I can see on this forum, let me use it today by wishing all a Merry Christmas to the Sarah Jane crowd and contributors.

I've enjoyed popping by during theyear and occasional chats with a few especially the erudite Stardoe.

Also in the spirit of Christmas and mindful of so much strife and conflict in the world (when will man ever learn that aggression, violence and war is never the answer.... sigh), let me apologise if at any time my words have upset others.
I don't believe in letting the sun set on the year and starting a new one without making peace with others.
Verily I apologise and wish you all a peaceful and fulfilling Chrismas for you all and your families.

Has anyone seen S2 of SJA? I have. I'm just about to watch the very last ep. It's been excellent but if I have one,,,,,,no,,,,,2 complaints, they are these......

1. It's a bit too emotional for my liking. I've loved the show, don't get me wrong, but I hope they move on from exploring the emotional plights of the characters for next season. You know....Luke's identity, Clyde's family situation, Sarah's past. I love seeing and knowing about Sarah's past but I think we've done it now and so let's go on. I'd like to see more about her time with the Dr if anything has to be explored from her past. But I think it is time for more action as in S1.
2. I really, really , really hate Sarah's hair in S2. I said it before that it is a young person's hair style and far too stark for her. When it's ruffled, it's ok, but when it's a straight combed studio do, it's horrible. I loved her hair in School Reunion and also in S1 of SJA. Similar to the old style, but more fitting her age and still very very trendy.........really suited her. Soft around her face. This one just makes her look quite odd.....it actually shows her age rather than enhances it. If you know what I mean. I think Elisabeth looks fantastic and nothing like her age but they make no mystery about how old she is so I think hair befitting that should be important. I loved in 'Mark of the Berserker', how her greys shone through on top when outside. Yeah, I love that. I love how they don't hide her age and yet we marvel at how great she looks. BUt I do think a new style would be best next season. Go back to the layered S1 style. That was really lovely.

How have people liked this new season? I......did a bad thing...... I have been showing S2 to my class.....one ep each day as an end of yr treat. They are rivetted. This is a pretty tough school that I teach at, where kids don't get motivated about anything positive and yet they get right up close with the smart board and don't take their eyes off SJA. If I don't let them see pt 2 of an ep, till the next day, they kick up a right old stink. Many are watching s1 on Pay TV....yes at long last it has come to Oz. They are enjoying it and making connections with the S2 shows I'm showing them. I can truely believe why this show is the no.1 kids' show in the UK. If my class loves it, then everyone will love it.

He also joins the writers of 'Life on Mars' (Ashley Pharoah), and 'Goodnight Sweetheart' (Maurice Gran) who also discusses the use of time travel in Television.

Steven also talks about the process and reasoning of bringing back Doctor Who, describing it as 'the best and toughest job in television'
