Thorn: Record Events with Mod WheelAny plans to have rosegarden thorn record event after the midi notes are
already recorded. It would be nice to be able to tweek your controler lanes with an external device after the rough midi notes are in. Any thoughts? Your description is pretty vague, so I'm kind of guessing at what you mean. It seems like you have some idea to start by recording notes, and then you want to go back and record controllers over top of them, in the same segment. Is that right, or am I completely missing the point? You can easily record a segment full of controllers parallel to the segment full of notes, and join them together if you want them all the events in the same segment. Hold Shift, click, click, then Ctrl+J and boom. Or let's say you've got the pencil tool active, you can hit down arrow, up arrow (selects all the segments on the track), Ctrl+J and boom. It's pretty quick either way. If you're looking to bypass the join step by recording directly into an existing segment, then this is an idea where I would strongly prefer not to deal with the repercussions of putting this tool into people's hands, and then having them ask me why their notation got screwed up. It would be involved to make such a function only record controllers, and the most likely implementation would just record everything, which would effectively encourage users to record conflicting voices in the same segment. Much documentation has been devoted to that topic. It's an ugly problem, and I would prefer not to make it worse. -- D.
