Tiki 4 wiki help - i18n of plugin section and window resize

Hi

The plugin section of the wiki help is listing the plugins aplhabetically based on their english name. When it is translated to another language the sorting remains based on the english name, it is quite confusing and looks a bit chaotic in other languages in my opinion. Is there a specific reason why the code here is written this way? If not, can this be fixed for Tiki 4? I dont know how to do it but would appreciate it :)

One more note: repositioning of the helper in Tiki 4 is great, I feel only one thing is missing here: to be able to minimize/maximize the helper once opened. It could have that underscore kind of thing that is regular in the windows minimzing and that usual icon for maximizing. Upon clicking minimize only the window header ("Wiki help") remains visible, the listing below is minimized. Maximize could mean a reasonable default width and height, not full screen of course.

thanks&cheers,
gezza

Should we just not translate?  The code has to be in English so
perhaps keeping English names makes sense?

+1 for Marc's solution

I think we should display the name by which the plugin is used, and
use that as sort.
The translated name is just information, it could be displayed after
the english name.

Added advantage: the plugin list keeps the same order when you switch languages.

+1 for not translating the plugin names. Since I work with both
English and French Tikis, I find it too difficult to pick the plugin I
want when switching from a site to another.

My 2 CDN cents.

Yes, agreed - minimise would be nice.

The helper is now using jQuery UI dialog (http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/
) so if there's a minimise thing for that we can do one (but i can't
find it).

Maybe i can improve the way it closes so when you reopen it
everything's in the same place (would help - on my list)

Hey Jonny!

I guess this means that you are already in Montreal and also settled
down in a production enviroment! Great! :-)

I realized this weekend that the resize-jquery-magic is not working on
firefox (at least on 3.5.4 on gnu/linux): tested the text areas in
shoutbox and wiki page edit box.
However, it's working fine on Ephiphany (using webkit) and Google Chrome.

Moreover, resizing the wiki syntax help box was working not as I
expected (even with the working browsers): I could only resize
vertically that help box, not horizontally. Is that the expected behavior?
Moreover, after a few seconds and clicks here and there in that wiki
help box, resizing stopped working to me.

My 2 cents

Well, not quite got my local tiki running again here - still doing
emails, but nearly there! :)

That's a browser thing - Safari has it too.
Never got round to adding a simulation of that in Tiki for the
primitive browsers (something for 5)

ok, would have no objection if this the case was for all plugins that the start/end marker syntax would be used, but currently it is a mixture of everything so a bit disorganised :) examples: for ALINK there is Anchor Link, ANAME is Anchor Name whereas for DIV it is Div, etc..

In my opinion either have the marker start/end syntax OR have "a short description name" but listed alphabetically in whatever language you are OR the golden middle:  have the name like this "ALINK - Anchor link" so I can translate it to"ALINK - Horgony link" and everyone is happy :)

let's go for this last one, what do you think?

thanks&cheers,
gezza
