Timeline for Joomla v1.0.1

Small fixes again, I found a missing "t" in "$pages_in_list" in some files ... copy and paste isn't easy ;)

because I recived an email "how to use it", here my answer:


If you want to use it, go to administrator backend

then create a new menupoint with "Menu" --> "mainmenu" or "usermenu" if you published this
(published = set moduls --> site modul --> usermenu --> published)

Menupoint:
"new" --> component --> give it a name (i.e. "Timeline") --> select "timeline" from Componentlist --> choose accesslevel (who is allowed to use link)

Now you will have a link to your timeline in frontend.
I restricted access to "edit buttons" to "special users" only!
So if you are only a registered user, you won't see the "edit button" in frontend.

Would be easy to change sourcecode if you would want to let everybody add and delete events ... if you want to ;)

In Backend you can't see the timelines itself, but you can add/edit/delete events and you can access my small FAQ and About-Files.


If you see one line already, that's ok, I added this as an example event.
You should be able to check the selectbox in front of this line and on top you should see an "edit button".

I believe it's better to use Art Timeline extension for Joomla 1.5 that has support included and has many more features like generating timelines and events from Joomla! articles and even from SQL query; several customizable properties, settings and styles. Just visit the site and have a look.
