Re: Tomcat 7 and JetspeedWe almost had it running under Tomcat 7 for the 2.2.2 release. The one remaining issue is related to deployment, the parsing of the web.xml descriptor for the Servlet 3.0 spec, which we did not have time to implement

Re: Tomcat 7 and JetspeedWill it be supported in 2.2.3?
Is there any push for a maintenance release for 2.2.2? Ron On 20/03/2012 9:36 PM, David Sean Taylor wrote: > We almost had it running under Tomcat 7 for the 2.2.2 release. Re: Tomcat 7 and Jetspeed1 issue, the parsing of the web.xml. Ha Ha Ha, too funny.
You aren't gonna get too far with a portlet engine that can't parse it's web.xml's. To be fair I haven't tried Jetpeed in a couple of years. But when I did last it was, frankly, crap. Re: Tomcat 7 and JetspeedAnything specific that you think needs changing? What is your reason for still following this forum? Do you have a project in mind that you would switch to Jetspeed if you could? Ron On 21/03/2012 12:45 PM, Jon Williams wrote: > 1 issue, the parsing of the web.xml. Yes, see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JS2-1274 > Is there any push for a maintenance release for 2.2.2? > Not yet. After the 2.2.1 release, I took a much needed break from the project, and worked on some other areas of interest in my career. The 2.2.2 release was largely done during late nights of Woonsan and I's off hours time, but still, there are some new features in it like Solr integration for the Jetspeed Search service, and the much needed portlet cloning feature. JS2-1274 would be one good reason to release 2.2.3 as a maintenance release. Please point out any other issues you would like to see fixed or improved --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: jetspeed-user-unsubscribe@... Re: Tomcat 7 and JetspeedOk I'll bite.
What I need to do anything involving portlets is Tapestry to finish their 5.0 portlet implementation. I think it sorta works now, but not officially or something. When I get my Tapestry 5 portlet impl I will try Jetspeed again. I'll report back with some refletions at the future date yet to be determined. And Dave, I hope things are cooler for you now. Everyone needs a holiday in this biz. |
