Thanks to all that post parts suppliers. Is there anywhere (uk) that lists all the original trophy components in an online shop.

My local triumph supplier has ingested too many doughnuts and the official triumph web site is near useless...

Thanks

I have never found an online parts fiche for the Trophy. I have one on CD though, and would be happy to burn/post a copy or email it to you.

There are two files (pre and post VIN 29156) that are about 120Mb each, so you'll need to have broadband if you would like the email version.

Very useful, I have had many wrong parts sent when calling my local dealer and ordering based on a VIN and describing what I need.

My broadband will eat that no trouble if you don't mind uploading them - although I think most emails have a 10Mb limit - can you ftp to a site?

- I will check my VIN
cheers

G'Day, I don't know of any online parts catalog in UK or Australia. The only one I know of is in USA at <www.bikebandit.com>. The disadvantage with this site though is the P/N's are listed with its own P/Ns & no cross reference to the Triumph nbrs. Hope this helps. Barry.

No Air Box on a BBBB

Has anyone done an air box removal on a 1200 BBBB with individual air
cleaners on each carb? What is the diameter of the Mikuni carbs at the
inlet?
Regards
Ed J.

Try www.triumphparts.gbr.cc

The company is sprint manufacturing and they supply individual K&N air filters for the 900 and 1200 engines. Let us know how you get on!

HI ED!
If we had a nickel for every time we heard that question. All it
takes is tangling with that damnable air box once to make each of us
ask that question. Now that you have it out all you need do is the
simple mod of splitting the back half of the airbox. You can read a
detailed instruction in our "files" section. The stock airfilter I
took out looked as well made as the K&N I put in. I'd clean, reoil,
and reuse the old one. Once you've done the mod checking and cleaning
the air filter is no big deal.
  Kindest regards,

Oh yeah Ed, The main reason not to go to the single pods is a big
loss of horsepower. This engine requires  a large airbox. Figuring in
the airbox size, and its relationship to horsepower is kind of a new
thing. It turns out that the air flow thru a big box gives a much
better charge of air/fuel mixture, resulting in HP gains. Do the mod,
and keep the stock intake system. I don't think you can tune to get
the lost hp back with the single pods. Getting more out of this
engine is a very expensive proposition. I'd love to go to some richer
sounding pipes, but even that requires rejetting. I ran the K&N for a
couple years, but was never happy with how my'95 BBBB ran. (Never
guessing that the filter could cause any problems. Finally somebody
told me that I needed to rejet, or return to the EOM filter. I went
EOM. The bike's performance drastically improved. It runs like new.
  Kindest regards,

I know on my BBB that the bike won't run worth a hoot without  the snorkels
on it, so I can't imagine what it would be like with no air box.  However,
I seem to have read in one of the RAT mags once a shop in France did a
radical cafe bike with no balancer or air box.

GIVI top box for sale.

by anthony hinckley :: Rate this Message:

Folks,
I'm selling a very lightly used GIVI 450 "Simply" top box, and a brand new, never used, mounting adapter for a factory Trophy rack.  I used the box one time a year for three years and that's it! The GIVI site has these items for $258 before any taxes.  I'm asking $175, plus shipping, from the Detroit area.
Cheers,
Terry
