Trouble getting centerboard cap offI have removed all of the screws from the centerboard cap and the front flat portion of the cap will lift up, but the rear portion of the cap is stuck tight. There doesn't appear to be any sealant on the gasket. The gasket seems very pliable. I'm afraid to pry too much or do anything that might compromise the gasket. Any ideas?

Re: Trouble getting centerboard cap offI can't remember without looking but I think you need to first remove or disconnect the tube for the cb pennant which goes from the top aft end of the cap, up to the bottom of the cockpit gutter just below the hatchway where the cb line comes up in the cockpit.. It goes up behind the aft wall. see attached drawings -----Original Message----- From: Dana <realnamen@...>http://web.mail.com/28789/mmc-2/en-us/Suite.aspx To: rhodes22-list@... Re: Trouble getting centerboard cap offI have removed the tube and the pennant is now coming right out of the centerboard cap. There are no obstructions or fasteners in the way as far as I can see. It seems like the cap is just stuck to the gasket which is just stuck to the trunk. I was able to peel the front part of the cap up because it is somewhat flexible. Peeling it up the rest doesn't want to work because it is so rigid.

Re: Trouble getting centerboard cap offCheck to see that your pennent is not cleated in the jamb cleat, if so you
may be trying to lift up the entire centerboard which is still attached to the cap. Good Luck Chris G -----Original Message----- From: rhodes22-list-bounces@... Re: Resolved: Trouble getting centerboard cap offThe centerboard cap liftted right off this afternoon. It sat for a day and became loose. The gasket relaxing over time must have done it.
