Trying to use InkscapeI am using Inkscape for the first time, and am having a hard
time doing anything with it. Can someone help me get started? I need to modify the attached PNG file to make its
background transparent. I expected to be able to select pixels individually or in
groups, and say that they are transparent. But instead, it seems that Inkscape
only allows me to treat this image a a vector-based image (I thought PNG was
pixel based no?). Ho do I go about selecting pixels and seting them to
transparent mode? Thx. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Re: Trying to use Inkscapeinkscape is good if you want to do an icon from sratch, than export it to png. If you already have a png file but dont have the "source" svg (vector graphics) file it is not the best tool for you, you can use neopaint for manipulating that png (or snagit or infranview or other) cheers, gezza From: "Desilets, Alain" <Alain.Desilets@...> To: Tikiwiki developers <tikiwiki-devel@...> Sent: Thu, November 5, 2009 12:37:38 PM Subject: [Tikiwiki-devel] Trying to use Inkscape I am using Inkscape for the first time, and am having a hard time doing anything with it. Re: Trying to use InkscapeThat's true.
Inkscape for vector (svg) images, use GIMP for PNG editing. stef-two@... wrote: > On Thu, Nov 05, 2009 at 06:37:38AM -0500, Desilets, Alain wrote: >> I am using Inkscape for the first time, and am having a hard time doing >> anything with it.
