Dear all,
We are trying to simulate a tube bulge-test in ABAQUS / IMPLICIT. For that, we have the tube, meshed with shell elements. We increase the pressure inside the tube and then, the tube starts to deform. We need to know the tube thickness at the end of the simulation and, for that reason, we have meshed the tube with S4R elements (we have tried to meshed it also with S4 shell elements, but the problem is the same). The problem is that when the tube achieve a plastic deformation of about 5%, the simulation stops with the error of TOO MANY ATTEMPTS MADE FOR THIS INCREMENT. It's very strange because the data given to the tube is until 100% of plastic deformation. The pressure curves is lineal from 0 to 10 MPa and the maximum step time is of 20 seconds. If anybody has any idea of how to solve that problem, it would help us a lot.
Thanks a lot,
Ireneo
