For those who get their WPost inoculation later -

DMV Eliminates In-Person Vehicle Registration.  "For information go to
www.dmv.dc.gov".  In today's District Extra p.5.
[Hmmm.  I generally pay attentions, but shouldn't this have come out two
weeks before, rather than after, the 7/13 changeover?]

The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System running next year,
cutting interstate VIN cloning fraud.  www.nmvtis.gov.  Today's Michelle
Singletary p.A15.

Is there a really a lot of vin cloning fraud going on?
are crooks really using the same vin in more than
one state at a time?

I would think when they clone a vin, the vehicle they are
cloning is junked?
