Two Stackable Items

I notice that engraving with a stack of +0 daggers dulls them all equally as
you write, and that you cannot write anything longer than with just one +0
dagger.  This doesn't seem like what one would imagine happens while
actually engraving with a weapon (although I will admit that I don't really
understand the vision behind stackable weapons in general (Clearly you are
not weilding all of them, although they all rust simultaniously if you are
hitting an acid blob)).  I wonder if people think that's the way it should
work.   Some possible options I can imagine are:
- the way it is (all dull equally)
- dulls just one then stops
- dulls one at a time until -3, then continues to the next in the stack

And then possibly dropping the now-differently dulled items (which might be
a little weird).

I was thinking about this issue in relation to RFE 1471399 (can't #dip just
one of a stack).  I think one nice solution would be the ability to #adjust
a stack of items with a count and split it into two stacks (the reverse of
merge), to any open inventory slot.  What do people think of that feature?
