UNICORE 6.2.2 workflow system releasedDear all,
I'm pleased to announce the release 6.2.2 of the UNICORE workflow system. It can be downloaded from SourceForge at https://sourceforge.net/projects/unicore/files/ For your convenience, here are the direct download links tar.gz bundle: <https://sourceforge.net/projects/unicore/files/1%20UNICORE%206%20Servers%20and%20Services/1.2%20Workflow%20System/6.2.2/unicore-workflow-6.2.2.tgz/download> Graphical installer: <https://sourceforge.net/projects/unicore/files/1%20UNICORE%206%20Servers%20and%20Services/1.2%20Workflow%20System/6.2.2/unicore-workflow-6.2.2.jar/download> After a lot of new code was introduced in the previous version, this release focuses on stability, performance and fixing bugs, for details see the change log below. As usual there is a tar.gz and a jar file. For information on installation and how to integrate with an existing UNICORE 6 installation, please refer to the UNICORE Wiki at http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/unicore/index.php?title=SetupWorkflowSystem or to the docs/setup.txt file in the distribution. Change log for 6.2.2: ********************* General: - smarter start/stop scripts - cleaned up installers - use latest (6.2.2) base UNICORE libraries Workflow engine: - several fixes in the for-each loop implementation - performance enhancements (callback/tracing calls are processed asynchronously now) - avoid excessive growth of workflow persistence data - poll service orchestrator for work assignment status, in case callback messages are missed (e.g. if workflow server is restarted) - allow String and Boolean variable types in the for-each loop - add a evaluation function that allows to access the latest exit code of an activity, and assign it to a workflow variable - allow to switch off resubmission "globally" by setting (in uas.config) "unicore.workflow.resubmit.disable=true" - Bugfix: workflow abort really aborts running subtasks (but not any currently running jobs) - Report errors in variable declaration and modification activities - fix rare race condition when location manager "update" operation failed Service orchestrator - enhanced performance by caching resource lookup - consolidated logging (less verbose) - fix trust delegation issue - do not fail work assignment if stdout/stderr files are missing (but do fail if other output files are missing) - better deal with "disappearing" target system instances Thanks to all who helped build and test this release!
