USB-Soundcards under LinuxHi all,
I want to connect a USB-Soundcard under linux. i have alsa installed. Do i just need to connect the soundcard to the usb-port or do i have to activate something? The soundcard is a cheap plastic stick with a c-media chipset in it. Thanks for helping. Re: USB-Soundcards under LinuxI think it's just the opposite, first plug it in, then modprobe it. (Disclaimer: i'm no expert.)
Good luck

Linux audio system should take care of the card; 'ecasound' should be pointed to the device to be used for playback. I.e. first make sure your USB soundcard works using 'aplay'/'arecord', then, when/if it works, use it with 'ecasound'.
