USB2 cameras?Hi List,
Is there any easy way to get a list of cameras that are supported that would only require a USB connection... ie that are powered over USB, and don't need an external power supply? Those are rare. Or not. Those that fit the description are usually (also) webcams. Thus low res. My small compact camera uses up to 2A for a short while while taking pictures. My big DSLR too. Thus feeding such a camera over USB directly is a problem. What you'd really want is a camera that charges its Li cells from USB and uses the celss for its power requirements. That is technically possible, but whether they exist.... I doubt it. I haven't heard of one that works this way. Re: USB2 cameras? Thanks for the info Roger. I do actually want it to use as a webcam, but
to generate the background image for http://www.diamondharbour.org.nz/index.php?id=37 - so I'm after decent size and quality image, and the ability to focus on infinity. ( I'm seriously abusing this camera by leaving it outside under the eaves, but it's second hand and was really cheap as the LCD was broken. It can't really handle humidity at all ): ).
