Hi,

I'm using started to use Nexus Open Source 1.3.4. and when trying to Browse Index or Search for any artifact, it does not work too. I tried do expire cache, re-index and nothing work I'm yet not capable to browse the repository

I tried to change in repository configuration the Download Remote Index = true, but does not work. And again repeat the previous action (Expire Cache > Reindex)

I've removed the Maven Central and all other Proxies and Groups -> recreating it, and it keept not working.

I've recreated the Maven Central repository and... again... no success... I've tried the Nexus Professional 1.3.4 too... more failues and no one exception in the Nexus Console or server logs....

I have added the Jboss repository, and again... guess !!... another failue... A repeated the above steps a lot of times... and nothing... Expire cache > RE-Index... Creting New Groups -> refreshing metadata, etc, etc, etc...

I have no proxy or network issues.

I've tried the war file, the bundle file in linux (ubuntu 9.04) and Windows XP and Vista   :(   nothing got work...

I'm always getting [Repo Name] (Not Available). i.e. Maven Cental (Not Available), Jboss (Not Available), when browsing index.

I've missing something here ??? I've read the entire Mexus Manual e-Book

Anyone can help-me for the maven's Sake ?

Thanx !!

Hi Dalton, when you first index central repository, this can take a bit to complete.  I would recommend keeping an eye on the 'System Changes' system feed.  There will be 2 entries for the reindex, 1 when it starts, and 1 when complete.  I have a feeling you had just been trying to browse the index before nexus was done downloading and processing the files from central.

Let me know if that's not the case

Thanks

Thanks for reply.

I've done it, but no effect.

I kept waiting for 3 hours (is more that !?), and nothing (even in the System Changes feeds). In fact when I removed the "Maven Central" and recreated it, few seconds after I could browse the repository - this works (but I don't expect to remove my repositories and recreate them when nothing happens), but for the other proxy repositories doesn't.

Does not work for (i.e. remove and recreate them) "Apache Snapshots", "Codehaus Snapshots" and my newly created "JBoss Snapshots" (http://snapshots.jboss.org/maven2). Even if I put all of them in a new "My Group".

I'm thinking I'm still missing some key here :(

Sorry if this is newbie question, but I browse a lot o messages of the Mailing Archive and found nothing more useful than some repositories are not indexed and Nexus could not do it, except for already downloaded artifacts.

There was a bug in 1.3.4 that could cause a problem if the index download was interrupted, it wouldn't try again until there was a new index published on the remote repo (it thought the internal one was up to date). Removing and readding the repo fixed it....

You shouldn't have to, that's a bug which will be fixed in 1.3.5

That's because these repos have no index, so you can't browse it.

That's the answer. No index, then you are limited to browsing already cached artifacts for now.
