Hi,

I've been using the following command to produce DVDs:

C:\elphaba\helper>mkisofs -J -R -V Session1 f:\session1 | cdrecord\cdrecord.exe -dao -dev=6,0,0 -v -tsize=1179926 -

I'm getting discs which look like they have files on them - windows reports the files, name and size correctly - but if I try to copy them from the CD onto a hard disk, I get "cannot copy [filename] - the parameter is incorrect".

The output looks like this (I can give the entire output if necessary, but it looks normal and is very verbose, so I didn't want to post it all to the list):

Starting to write CD/DVD/BD at speed 4 in real SAO mode for single session.
Last chance to quit, starting real write    0 seconds. Operation starts.
Waiting for reader process to fill input buffer ... input buffer ready.
BURN-Free is OFF.
cdrecord/cdrecord: Input/Output error. reserve_track_rzone: scsi sendcmd: no err
or
CDB:  53 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 41 00
status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
Sense Bytes: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 24 00 00 C0 00 03
Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x24 Qual 0x00 (invalid field in cdb) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid) error refers to command part, bit ptr 0 (not vali
d) field ptr 3
cmd finished after 0.002s timeout 200s
cdrecord/cdrecord: Cannot open next track.
Writing  time:    0.038s
Average write speed  85.3x.
Fixating...
Fixating time:    0.002s
cdrecord/cdrecord: fifo had 37 puts and 0 gets.
cdrecord/cdrecord: fifo was 0 times empty and 0 times full, min fill was 100%.
mkisofs: Broken pipe. cannot fwrite 32768*1

I've tried this on two different drives with both DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. Any ideas?

Thanks,

P

If you remove parts of the output, it is impossible to help.

If you like help, please send the output from cdecord -v -minfo
and the result from a cdrecord -v write attempt

In any case, your tsize= parameter is wrong. Read the man pages for help on
hos the parameter works.
