Hello,

It is usefull when you use a partial checkout (e.g. a non recursive
checkout). Update more allows you to add to your working copy some
directories that you didn't checkout earlier.

It's a combination of SVN features: From the command line, you may us "svn ls"
and then "svn update not-yet-existing-path".

neat, I really like the feature. With that in mind i have a something in mind.

When a new folder is added by someone, SmartSVN shows those folder in a tree with a "dimmed" look, Then i go and update it. Can't Smart SVN do similar thing for folders that I have not checked out?

The "repository-only" files and directories are exactly those which you will
get on your next update to HEAD. Non-recursive check outs (i.e. where you will
use Update More) are typically done by intention, because you are not
interested in certain parts of the repository tree. So IMHO they shouldn't be
shown. However, we have the feature on the RFE list to visually denote
non-recursively checked out directories.

Ok, I agree they should not be fetched when I run update on the folders that I have not checked out intentionally. That makes very good sense.

>However, we have the feature on the RFE list to visually denote

I was kinda thinking of this, they show but do not update unless explicitly asked to update.

I have seen the effect unknowingly, maybe a side effect.

I was setting up a fresh environment, I usually update immediate folder and then update-more and update recursively to get the exact folders that I want.

But today I accidentally checked out, recursively at the root folder. I didn't realize what it was doing, after 5 mins when I got to know what has happened, I stopped the sync. Luckily in the past 5 min, it has only sycned the folders that I wanted to get.

But smartsvn has proabbly got the complete tree structure but did not create any folders in that tree.
In SmartSvn i see those folders as "dimed folder".  If i tried to update the root, the dimed folders are not updated automatically even with recursive turned on.

then I selected one of the dimed folder and update (recursive) then it started updating its children.

this is the exact behavior that I was looking for. SmartSvn has the feature already... maybe not the way you guys are expecting it.

Canceling a check out resp. update should result in an "incomplete" root
directory, for which you can only continue the Update later (it should have
had a blue exclamation mark).

I think "depth" has probably already been set to "infinity" and hence the
Remote State will show not yet updated files/directories (because you will
retrieve them actually when continuing the Update).
