Update to tinymce?

Hi guys,

I believe the version of tinymce that comes with "core" is a little
out of date, is there a plugin or plan in the works to upgrade to the
latest version?

If not, do you believe it will be a big task to do the integration and
what are you thoughts on simply updating core as opposed to creating a
plugin?
