Uploading to Codehaus Maven repository

Has anyone out there had any success using Gradle to upload artefacts to
the Codehaus Maven repository and/or distributions to the Codehaus
store?

I can do all of this with Gant using the Maven Ant task, but when I try
and do the exact same thing with Gradle I just get a 401.
