User Status Icon in Group Chat (Jabber Protocol)

Right now in a group chat using the Jabber protocol, it displays the user's privilege level in the form of an icon (i.e. admin, member, etc). I would prefer it to show an icon indicating that they are available / away / etc. Is there a way to do this?
