Using synce for file syncing only (also using bluetooth for sync)

I have setup synce and I can see the file list and all that.

I am using direct internet connection for contacts, calendar and mail.

How do I setup synce for file sync only?  I'm guessing I don't need
msynctool or open-sync for files only. I've seen in the partnership
psconfig.xml that lists a file directory.  I've set that, but I'm not
sure what else there is to do.

A few other things I'm not understanding too.
Automatic sync on connection - i.e. if I plug in the PDA, how to
automatically run synch with the correct user.

Synch with blue tooth.  I've paired the devices but never synched.

Sorry for being such a noob with this.

Thanks!

This all depends completely on what version of Windows Mobile, earlier
than 5 or 5 and later ?

You need a partnership, sync-engine must be running, and you need to
enable file sync in the config file, since it's disabled by default.

There isn't a standard way of doing this, but just starting sync-engine
in your login script should work if all you want is file sync.

I poked around with the config file and I am working.  Thanks!

I'll try starting it a a daemon tomorrow.  If that works, great.  If
not, manual is sufficient.

Are you using the normal ubuntu packages (synce-hal 0.1) or from the PPA
(0.14) ?

If you use the ones from the PPA, install synce-hal-bluetooth, and try
connecting from the device.

Otherwise it involves setting up various support files, I'll try and
walk you through it if you have the old version.

Mark
