I'll need to VNC (from a Mandriva 2009.0 box, to remain on topic) a box
running Windows XP.

Can anyone recommend a VNC server, if possible free, which I could download
from somewhere ?

TIA,

Ron.

Tightvnc

Download the "self-installing" package for Windows.  Couldn't be easier to
setup.

Had seen it, but it is not clear to me that this had the server.

Thanks,

Ron.

Yeah man, it's a nifty little program.  Hell in my past job (50+ desktops)
I used it on a day-to-day basis with never a hiccup.
