VS Problem?

Hi All,

I'm seeing a very odd error appearing in my project files. My project files
seem to "spontaneously" develop spaces in random places. So, for example,
I'm now seeing a folder
named "Constra nts" with one file in it, because one the path for one file
entry in the csproj file got modified. The one I'm seeing now is in VS2005,
but I think it has also occurred in VS 2008. It leads me to suspect some
sort of malware, but I'm not detecting anything with Norton.

Has anyone heard of this?

Charlie

Charlie,

I don't know if this will be helpful or not, but a long time ago (when 2.0
was first released, I think), I was writing some code that used the
System.Xml namespace to do some manipulation of my iTunes XML file
(because I was moving all my files from one folder to another)...  Anyway,
when I was writing this code, I kept having problems where it would
corrupt the XML file by randomly adding spaces to the file, in seemingly
unrelated places (i.e. it wasn't "regular" like always in an end tag /
start tag / etc., but rather just in what appeared to be truly random
places).  I think i ended up working around it, but I haven't seen the
problem since, so I wonder if it was addressed by one of the SPs for
VS2005...

Are you up to date on patches/updates for 2005 & .NET?

Kelly

Thanks, I'll check. It's possible that I reinstalled at some point and
didn't reapply a service pack.
