While running the font validation before generating a TTF font, the Self
Intersecting note continually appears on a font I am creating. The
glyphs were created from imported SVG files, but once inside of
FontForge, it is difficult to figure out where the intersections are
occurring.
The problem explanation is straight forward enough, but it doesn't state
where there error is. I've found that I can View -> Zoom in to zoom in
on the effected location, but I don't see a shortcut to simply go there,
ideally something that is "go to last reported error location", so if I
click elsewhere on the glyph, I'm still able to find the reported error.
While I can zoom in and then zoom out to keep the same perspective, this
isn't ideal, so is there another way?
On a sort of related note, I've found that many times, Element ->
Simplify -> Simplify and Simplify more generate self intersects that
cannot be rectified with Element -> Overlap -> Remove Overlap, or right
click in the Validation window -> Try To Fix Glyphs With Self
Intersections. There are other cases of automated fixes that generate
more errors in a blind attempt to fix the current one, but I can
understand some of the logistical nightmares associated with trying to
keep everything in sync.
