Vermona DRM power supply rating?

Hi,
I finally got to selling my Doepfer MAQ and ordered a DRM-1 Mk-III from
Novamusik in the US.

One thing I have overlooked is the power supply setting.

Does the DRM-1 have a switchable power supply, ie one that can select between
US 110V and Australian/EU 240V?

A lot of gear has a little switch in the IEC socket, to select the power
rating.  I think from an image the DRM has this.

But can anyone please confirm if their DRM has such a switchable power
supply or am I now going to have to source a transformer (or get it modded?).

Thanks!

From what I remember when peeking inside, there is a switch inside the
Perfourmer for this. I'm not sure if it works or not, but it's there
as part of the power supply. I'm _almost_ positive that the internally
mounted power supply is the same for the DRM...

Hi Mark,
that does look like a switchable power supply.  A guy at work seems to think
that the power transformer has a Primary of 115v that runs in parallel
and flicking the switch to 240v would set it to 240v in series.

I will wait till it arrives and have a look myself - I am not foolish enough
to "just plug it in" ;)

Pity some of the Vermona guys don't lurk here occasionally - I love that
there is some stuff coming out of Eastern Europe (East Germany?) that is so
innovative and retro at the same time!

Vermona have a pretty good record of responding to inquiries. You
might write them to verify...

Also, I think there is a little fuse drawer built into the powercable
socket.. so there might be a need to get an upgrade fuse? Dunno...

Hi Niall,
the answer to my question came direct from Vermona themselves!

To change the setting of the DRM1 from 115v to 240v, you need to open
the unit up and set the voltage switch as described in the photo
we saw of the inside and then you must replace the fuse - from Vermona:

"Hello,
you're right, the fuse inside the power socket has to be changed to 63mA."

So, the answer is - the Vermona DRM1 Mk-III and similar form factor all
should have a switchable power supply, with the caveat that you must also
use the correct rated fuse for your power setting.

So for anyone like myself considering importing a DRM1 from one country
or another, such as Australia where they do not exist, then you're set ;)

Now I just have to wait for mine, which mysteriously went out of stock
just after they received my payment :/
