Very bad color calibration when printing on Ultra Premium Photo Paper LusterHi,
I've done several very successful prints with my Epson R2880 using Canon Photo Rag Paper (it's actually manufactured by hahnenmuhle). To print on that I set gutenprint to Matte Paper as that looked the closest and got good output that roughly matched my monitor, that calibrated using an ICC profile for the model although not generated by me with a color calibration device. I now used Epson's Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster, setting the driver to "Premium Luster Photo Paper". The resulting print is very noticeably off. The white balance seems too warm and green. Any ideas of what could be causing this? I'm using 5.2.4 on Ubuntu 9.10. Pedro ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us! I don't understand one point -- are you using an ICC profile for the printer? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us! From what I understand gutenprint doesn't use ICC profiles for papers/printers. Anything I can do to correct this problem? I'm using Ubuntu Karmic (9.10), on amd64, printing from Gimp and using gutenprint 5.2.4 as packaged by ubuntu. Sorry for being a nag. Is there anything I can do about this? The printer is useless for color work right now.
