Video on Overo FireAfternoon, I am very interested in using the Gumstix Overo Fire for video manipulation. I have a little project where I want to take a video source in B.656 format feed it into a framebuffer and manipulate it using the Fire module. Is is at all possible or would it be too intensive for this device? The idea is yo overlay images into the buffer. Thanks Wayne Wayne Tams

Re: Video on Overo FireLook at how its done with the OMAP3 EVM and the Multi-Media Daughter card.
http://www.mistralsolutions.com/products/mdc.php I don't know if you can get access to the PSP 2.X release for the OMAP3 EVM (it has support for the multi-media daughter card) without buying one. There also seems to be support for the OMAP3 EVM W/ Multi-media daughter card here http://www.gitorious.org/omap3camera So to answer your question its certainly possible, and its NOT too intensive. The V4L2 supports overlays. The easy way would be getting an OMAP3 EVM board and the multi-media card. Test it out in terms of performance, etc. ________________________________________ From: Wayne Tams [wayne.tams@...] Sent: Friday, July 03, 2009 6:07 AM To: gumstix-users@...
