Video problemThe scene: A brand new installation of 2009.1, with KDE 3.5, on several boxes
built around an Asus MB with Nvidia video built in. The plot: after some time without any activity, the screen goes black; waking up the box with any K or M activity gives a screen that is bright to the point of illegibility. Only a complete reboot, à la MS Windows, restores the display to a useful setting. I have already disabeled the screensaver from the Desktop settings; any other suggestion ? (which alas has no internet access yet ;-3( The only thing I found running was APCI; stopped it, rebooted without APCI, and the same problem comes again; any other idea ? Re: Video problemThe problem has finally been solved by adding the PLF repositories (A big
thank you to easyurpmi) and installing the latest proprietary Nvidia video driver. My thanks to all who helped. Ron. -- While most peoples' opinions change, the conviction of their correctness never does. -- http://www.olgiati-in-paraguay.org -- |
