VoiceXML conformance testHi all,
we are using the VoiceXML conformance test to test our voice browser implementation. Some of the tests go to a web page that is located at TellME studio, e.g. http://www.w3.org/Voice/2004/vxml-ir/528/528a1.txml Now we discovered that the referenced site dows not work any more. A call to http://www.w3.org/Voice/2004/vxml-ir/528/528a1.txml returns object not found. Is the test not supported any more? ~dirk |

I am talking about the VoiceXML 2.0 conformance test which is described at http://www.w3.org/Voice/2004/vxml-ir/ Is there any better? Maybe I missed something? ~dirk |

Hi, Sorry, I didn't read the URL: I thought it was the URL to the TellMe studio. I am talking about the VoiceXML 2.0 conformance test which is described at http://www.w3.org/Voice/2004/vxml-ir/ The VoiceXML Forum has a conformance suite that tests 2.0, 2.1, and SRGS 1.0. I'm pretty sure it contains no references to the TellMe studio :) [ian_sutherland.vcf] begin:vcard fn:Ian Sutherland n:Sutherland;Ian org:Oracle USA Inc.;Voice Lab adr:233 South Wacker Drive;;Suite 4500;Chicago;IL;60606;United States of America title:Consulting Member of Technical Staff tel;work:1-312-651-8169 note:The statements and opinions expressed here are my own and do not necessarily represent those of Oracle Corporation. x-mozilla-html:FALSE version:2.1 end:vcard |

RE: VoiceXML conformance testI think the confusion is that the original Implementation Report
(IR) tests are still up. I believe that those tests do contain references to
the Tell-Me website. These are NOT the conformance test. The current release
candidate for VXML 2.0, VXML 2.1, and SRGS 1.0 is available from the VXML Forum
web site. To download the test suite, you must login to the members portal and
navigate to the Conformance->Files area. If you find incorrect URL references in the current release candidate,
we definitely want to know ASAP. George From: www-voice-request@...

RE: VoiceXML conformance testHi George and Ian,
Thanks for the clarification. > I think the confusion is that the original Implementation Report (IR) > tests are still up. I believe that those tests do contain references > to the Tell-Me website. My problem with these tests is that they require a membership. Our implementation of a Voice browser is open source and is not being sponsored or supported by a company. So I do not have the money to become a member. Without the chance to earn money with my project I would have to pay it on my own. I have the impression that there is no room in the VoiceXML forum for projects like ours. I do not want to start a discussion about that but I I think that it would be good for us to leave the tests there. Since I did not have access to the restricted area at the VoiceXML forum I was looking for a different solution to ensure that our implementations follows the spec and ended up with this test suite. In fact we found a lot of open issues with it, so it helped us a lot. Thanks ~dirk |

Re: VoiceXML conformance testDear Dirk Schnelle-Walka and all,
Thank you very much for your comments. We W3C Voice Browser Working Group are checking the details of this issue. Could you please wait a moment? VoiceXML conformance testHi,
Could you please clarify which test suite is to be used for VoiceXML 2.0 and 2.1 conformance? I found http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-voice/2009AprJun/0028.html which states "To download the test suite, you must login to the members portal and navigate to the Conformance->Files area" When I login and navigate to Conformance->Files area there are many choices for test suites. Can you please clarify the exact suite that is to be used for VoiceXML 2.0 and 2.1 conformance. Is it http://www.voicexmlforum.net/vxml-conformance/file-fix/Merged%20Test%20S uite/vxml_test_suite_2.1_RC3.tar.gz or http://www.voicexmlforum.net/vxml-conformance/file-fix/VoiceXML%202.0%20 test%20suite/vxml20_1.0.1d.tar.gz and http://www.voicexmlforum.net/vxml-conformance/file-fix/VoiceXML%202.1%20 Test%20Suite/vxml21_0.0.3.tar.gz or http://www.voicexmlforum.net/vxml-conformance/file-fix/VoiceXML%202.0%20 test%20suite/vxml20_1.0.1d.tar.gz and http://www.voicexmlforum.net/vxml-conformance/file-fix/W3C%20IR%20test%2 0suites/VoiceXML%202.1/irtests.zip Or something else? Thanks, Russell Gulli |
