Doug Blair is the official blogger for WWRUG09, poster of the ARSlist Awards, and now that I got 5 minutes to read the ARSlist for the first time since last Friday,  I think I'll make him the official twitterer.

WWRUG is me as well, for WWRUG.

WWRUG09 is the one for the conference, but you have to picture that the bird is an Ostrich that takes it's head out of the ground once a week for a breath of air.

And now back to preparing for the ARSlist Awards this morning.

** For the record, only portions of Dan look the least bit like an ostrich.

Dan (and Phil, and Kelly, and Joel and Lenny) and the volunteer staff (too numerous to mention) have been doing a spectacular job of coordinating rooms and speakers, setting up tables and booths, stuffing goodie bags (in the dark!) and the other behind the scenes things that have to happen to make the conference work.  Kudos to you all!

Oh, hey, what an idea! The ARSLIST awards are in 90 minutes!  Time for breakfast!  See the menu at

and (best)

The real question I have is this.

Was the conference a success because it was planned by users for users?....I
don't recall the exact responses to the latest BMC lead user group....but
was this better?....and what will happen next year?

In answer to your question LJ, not sure how long you've been attending.  But this conference was very much like those of the 90's.  Everyone there was a Remedy person.  Everyone had the same interests and more than willingly to share their experiences.  I hope we do keep this format.

I really like the tutorials at the beginning of the day.  Way back I would take the tutorials before the actual conference started and sometimes by Thursday your mind was in a major meltdown.  I thought the pace was just right this year.  I also thought there was more time to chat among ourselves which is of great value too.  The variety of sessions was good and the ones I attended for the most part were technically orientated.

I always came home with ideas, and this year was no different.  And it's nice to get that shot of excitement.  To want to try new things that you can share next year.

I have to say, I was pleasantly pleased with the organization of the event.  From my view everything went very smooth, I'm sure at times the organizers were scrambling, but it didn't show.

I'm ready to sign up for next year's WWRUG !!  See you there,

Susan

I just want to follow up on Susan's comments.  Even though I was busy at times behind the scenes, I sat in on Tutorials on Wednesday and Thursday as well as sessions each afternoon.  For me the tutorials were great reviews of courses I took many many years ago.  In the afternoon sessions, I saw many new things and picked up a few items to try on a couple of things that have been bugging me for a few years.

It did feel like the RUGs of old.  Great technical information, renewal of old acquaintances as well as establishing some new ones.

It was a great feeling and coming home felt like returning from a family reunion.

LJ ... I was prepared to pay for this myself, but luckily didn't have to.  This was #13 for me and going 'without' last year had more impact on my psyche than I realized until I got there and started absorbing everyone's energy.

See Doug Blair for pictures, he was always clicking !  There were others too.  I think at least some of them could escape from Vegas ..... :)

The real question I have is this.

Was the conference a success because it was planned by users for users?....I
don't recall the exact responses to the latest BMC lead user group....but
was this better?....and what will happen next year?

Doug Blair is the official blogger for WWRUG09, poster of the ARSlist
Awards, and now that I got 5 minutes to read the ARSlist for the first time
since last Friday,  I think I'll make him the official twitterer.

WWRUG is me as well, for WWRUG.

WWRUG09 is the one for the conference, but you have to picture that the bird
is an Ostrich that takes it's head out of the ground once a week for a
breath of air.

And now back to preparing for the ARSlist Awards this morning.

Re: PICTURES

I know Phil Bautista copied my SD card just before we left, and there is quite a bit of conference video around.

Perhaps we can prevail on someone to collect a few pix on the WWRUG website? Maybe after we have a few days to get back into the swing if things?

Or.... Friend me :-).

Susan
