Hi,

I want to add http://retromessneger.sf.net to pidgin.
http://retromessenger.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/retromessenger/QTRS_retromessenger_mingw_SVN1139/retroshare/trunk/retroshare-gui/
It is based on the concept of PGP keys which makes it most secure chat messenger.
It is a QT/C++ based tiny instant messenger having feature of chatting with friends  and Link cloud (sharing URLs with friends).

Please can any one help me how to start with?

Hi.

Your email is interesting -- but I'm not a key developer.

I'm writing to ask where in the RM project they actuallt describe the protocol.  For example:

1) how does my RM client ever find yours to exchange information?
It uses concept of PGP keys, so each of your friend is being added into list using PGP based certificate. It uses miniupnp server to find your friend which internally uses concept of DHT (Dynamic Hash Table) which stores keyand corresponds to ip address.

2) how is it serverless if we need to find each other and exchange keys?  Is there a "web of trust" or "trust network" system?
yeah it is based on web of trust as explained above

The RM FAQ is very light, and the forums are deactivated, so there's barriers to communication.
Yeah, we are activate after a gape of period, but now yeah RM is again on its way and we trying to make RM for both Desktop and portable devices like mobile, PDA etc.

hope it helps

Allan

Both the Gadu-Gadu and Sametime protocol plugins in pidgin currently link
to external libraries for the protocol functionality and are thus
'wrappers' around them. Assuming there is already a retroshare library
available (which a quick look seems to indicate there is) you can do
something similar.
