More JavaScript :(

Someone's going to have to do something about that language before it takes over the world.

You could try going back in time and stopping Netscape from ever starting up?

Even better: go back in time and stop Sun from ever starting up. Kill two birds with one stone :) JavaScript would have never taken off if Java hadn't been such a fad at the time.

They would have just called it something else. Netscape called ECMAscript, Javascript because Java was so huge.

I know that is where the Java prefix came from but I thought it was
officially called ECMAscript only after they submitted it to the ECMA
standards process?

Was Flash's ActionScript already called that before it morphed into
being an ECMAscript, back when it was just a simple macro language?
