Weird window behavior

 I am running IceWM under Gnome..and have been seeing some weird
window behavior.

Every once in a while an empty window will be created which can only
be killed with xkill. The window looks like a terminal window but is
not.

this is an extract from the .xsession-errors log:

I gather this is when the window appears --I enlarged it:

IceWM: APP BUG? configureRequest for window C00239 sent to destroyed
frame A00011!
IceWM: APP BUG? mapRequest for window C00239 sent to
destroyed frame A00011!

I **think** this is when I clicked the close button (which does
nothing)

 XIO:  fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily
unavailable) on X server ":0.0" after 1493 requests (1493 known
processed) with 0 events remaining.

Then I ran xkill :

Select the window whose client you wish to kill with button 1....
xkill:  killing creator of resource 0xa00011


I **suspect** this is being created by the theme I am running
(Vistablack) but I have seen the same behavior with other themes.


Has anyone seen anything similar ???
