FWIW, I never thought that the DC parking thugs would boot a bike... looks
like I was wrong.

This picture was taken adjacent the bike parking area at 11th St. & H St.
NW.  Dunno what the unlucky fellow did to incur their wrath.  In any event,
he managed to get it taken care of by the next day, as I saw him sitting on
the (now unbooted) bike in the legal parking spots.

When I was taking classes at GWU, there was a motorcycle in the
motorcycle parking lot that didn't have a GWU parking pass.  ($15 per
semester if I remember right).  For 3 weeks he got tickets.  Then a big,
red Kryptonite super type lock was placed on his front wheel with a note
to call the GWU parking lot at his earliest convenience.  The following
week he was back, with a brand new parking sticker on his bike.

. . .snip

***Today I was hoofing it at 15th & G NW and saw a bike, looking legally
parked, with a bright orange, abt 4x6 sticker *glued* to the front
windshield (a corner was scraped like an attempted removal).  It said
"Violation" and a few other things, but on perusal no jurisdiction was
mentioned.  Not seen this in DC before.  Any thoughts?  Police?  Private
garage?  ???
