Dear All,

Please find below information for 3 Bioengineer posts at Westmarc in Glasgow:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Rehabilitation and assessment directorate

West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre (WESTMARC)

Band 7 BIOENGINEER/ Clinical Scientist - 3 posts

£29,789 - £39,273, 37.5hrs

You will work within the Wheelchair and Seating service, joining an expanding multidisciplinary team which provides services from clinics within WESTMARC and at several outlying clinics to 45,000 patients. Seating for postural management, equipment for pressure sore prevention and specialist controls for powered mobility are included.  The team works closely with other NHS departments, education, social work and vehicle transport organisations. This service is integrated with other WESTMARC based services including environmental controls and prosthetics and orthotics.

You will have opportunities to undertake research and development activities to enhance service delivery and develop consistent practice and knowledge across Scotland.  This may involve liaison with universities, manufacturers and other wheelchair and seating services.

You will be a State Registered Clinical Scientist, ideally with a first or second class Honours Degree in Engineering.  You should also have good communication skills and be able to problem solve using your experience and engineering skills. Experience in the field of rehabilitation technology would be an advantage as would experience of working with individuals with disabilities.  A driving license is essential and you should be willing to occasionally drive for extended distances as some clinics are geographically remote from the base, Westmarc.

Closing Date: 3rd July 2009
