What respawns samba?

Hi All,

I am running V2.3R63-uNSLUng-6.10-beta.

Although I can stop smb processes:

10753 root      4816 S    /usr/sbin/nmbd -D
10757 root      6156 S    /usr/sbin/smbd -D
10764 root      6156 S    /usr/sbin/smbd -D

within 24 hours they have started again.  How can I control this?
