I do a revision graph on the root folder of the sandbox. Then you can trace back the line from the branch graph node to the trunk to see the revision of the trunk it was spawned from.
Also, for the future, anytime I create a branch or tag, I add the revision number in the checkin comment so that I can get this information that way too.
