Where's the ammo?

Hi,

At least twice now I have raided Fort Ludios but found scarcely any
bullets. Dozens upon dozens of rifles, submachine guns, grenades, etc,
etc, but where is the ammo?

Isn't that always the way :-) Next time, of course, you'll be playing a
monk and find loads of ammo!

Ali.

Ok bad luck is one thing but it doesn't make sense for the firearms to
appear in Fort Ludios without ammo. It doesn't seem to happen like that
elsewhere in the dungeon. If a soldier has a pistol he has bullets. If a
shopkeeper has a shotgun there are shells. And so on. True?

I don't _think_ so. At least, I can't see any special casing in the
code for Fort Ludios that relates to firearms or ammo. Since Fort
Ludios is full of barracks, it's possible the effect is caused by those
and you're just seeing it magnified on Ludios, but I can't even see
anything obvious to cause soldiers generated in barracks to be any
different to other soldiers.

Ali.

Ok I think I understand what happens. I arrived at Fort Ludios again,
this time as Samurai so I don't even care about the ammo. But I noticed
first time stepping on the door that there were tons of bullets. Then a
soldier threw a frag grenade, and after that no more bullets. So do they
detonate? How annoying. There are mountains of grenades lying around,
those didn't detonate...
