Which Esperanto translation should we use for eject debconf message?

Hello,

In #488206, Felipe Castro sent an Esperanto translation of eject
package debconf message. However, in #478957, another translation had
been sent by Luiz Portella, but unfortunately not committed because
wrongly identified as "program" translation (which I didn't notice,
shame on me).

Both translations differ:

Felipe's version:
msgid "Eject a CD from the drive"
msgstr "Eligi lumdiskon el la disk-legilo"

Luiz' version:
msgid "Eject a CD from the drive"
msgstr "Elĵetu KD-on el la lumdiskingo"

Which one should be used?

(please keep 488206@... CC'ed to answers)

Hello,

I also thought that Luiz had translated the program, so I sent the
debconf part. But today I noticed the duplication. I prefer mine one,
but the translation of Luiz looks like correct. So, if you want to
apply the criterion of date, be free to use his translation.

Felipe Castro.

Luiz' version looks correct to me too.

Neither verb seems perfect - the first is more like "output" and the
second "throw out".  Probably the second is less confusing, because
"output" appears in other situations in computing and it's closer to
the msgid literally.

Hope that helps,

When you say "eject" do you mean "to eject" (infinitive) or "eject"
(imperative)?

Of both versions, Luiz's seems better Felipe's, although i'd change it to

"Forigu KD-on el diskingo" (imperative) "Forigi KD-on el diskingo"
(infinitive), "diskingo" simply meaning "drive".

Nuno,

Felipe.

ELigi EL diskingo ripetas "el", nur tial mi preferas "forigi". :-) Aux
eble "demeti".

Quoting Nuno Magalhães (nunomagalhaes@...):

Infinitive.

In D-I all menu items use the infinitive form.

PS: I'm impressed by the number of people reacting to this
post. Esperanto l10n in Debian should be more complete than it is
right now if there are so many potential contributors..:-)

Se al vi ne plaĉas ripetado de "prep-verbo" kaj "prep+substantivo", do
la plej bona solvo mi pensas ke estus uzi "demeti" mem. Ĉar "forigi"
portas la sencon pri "malaperigo", ĉu ne?

Jes, "demeti" estus pli bona solvo, tamen, vi povus havi alian ripetadon:

DEmeti DE diskingo... ;-)

Kaj fine, oni povus havi ankaŭ:

Demeti el diskingo...

Tiu ĉi lasta estas neripeta konstruo. Tamen, ne multe gravas, ne tro
priatentu tiajn ripetadojn, ili estas normalaj en Esperanto.
