I have been using the Adaptec Hardware Raid controllers very effectively
until I noticed that the 2.6 kernels do not play nice with the PCI_I2O
subsystem:
I2O subsystem v1.325
i2o: max drivers = 8
i2o: Checking for PCI I2O controllers...
iop0: controller found (0000:00:06.1)
PCI_I2O 0000:00:06.1: BAR 0: can't reserve mem region
[0xfc000000-0xfdffffff]
iop0: device already claimed
iop0: DMA / IO allocation for I2O controller failed
So, I am asking the experts list, which Hardware RAID controller for
SCSI devices do you use?
Is there a replacement for the Adaptec Storage Manager? This tool was
great in the days of the 2.4 kernels, but no longer appears to be
supported by Adaptec.
Regards,
