Which IR transceiver to get?

Hi Everyone,

I've done some fairly in-depth comparative analysis but still can't
quite decide which transceiver to get.
I've narrowed it down to these three:

http://www.bitwisecontrols.com/products.php
http://www.irtrans.de/en/shop/lan.php
http://iguanaworks.net/

Global cache is ruled out as they seem unsure whether their devices are
supported by LIRC...
Also I'm not sure the last one is really a contender because it's quite
light on features compared to the others.

Interested in those who've had experience with any of these, which you
prefer, and why.

Thanks heaps,
Jed

I answered this recently for someone...but here goes again:

I like the irtrans. It's rock solid, well engineered, great Linux & Win
support, super flexible, offloads processing to the device (not PC's CPU)

It's expensive but the time it saves (in working rock solid) can pay for
itself

Thanks for your thoughts Michelle.

I've probably been more interested in IRtrans than the others.
Good to hear that someone is quite happy with them.

If others have a favourite or good experiences with a certain
transceiver make/model, speak now or forever 'hold your tongue' ;-)

I'll be 'biting the bullet' within the next 24hr.

Cheers,
Jed

I've *been* holding my tongue, but for a different reason...

Please, for the love of all that is good, just bite already. Now for
why I've been holding my tongue: you're bordering on obnoxious with
request after request for the same information. You've already annoyed
one vendor to the point where they would rather lose a sale than have
to continue interacting with you. Enough is enough already.
