Right, she is a journalist from london who travelled with the doctor who is a 900 year old alien who's speceis are called the timelords due to their abilities of complete bodily regeneration, meaning if their body is killed or wears out they can get a new one but they retain memories from the old one. The Doctor was in his third incarnation when he picked up Sarah-Jane, when at first she thought he was a bad guy who was kidnapping scientists from the twentieth century and landing them in the middle ages (I think it was then anyway but I may mean something different), and organised his capture with a grtoup of sympathetic soliders. They bonded later over stink bombs and never looked back. They travelled in his TARDIS (time and relative dimension in space) which takes the shape of a blue police box because the chameleon circit is broken and is bigger on the inside, and can tavel in time and space. Then, some time, sveral adventures and a lot of aliens later, she found herself back on earth after the Doctor (now in his fourth body, the third one having been destroyed by radiation from a crystal) receives a distress signal from his home planet, gallifrey. She is devastated when he doesn't return for her, although she does receive a gift of a robot dog called K9 from him, and then met him again when she decided to investigate a school. The doctor (now in his tenth regeneration) is stunned to see her again, as he has moved on but discovers that she never could. One last adventure with him and a tear jerking goodbye (though she hopes not the last) and she is alone again (apart from K9) and she decides to begin doing what they always did in space on earth, and soon befriends Maria who moves in oppositer her, adopts a composite human who was growm by aliens, gets a super computer, falls in love, discovers motherhood, lerns slang from her son (Luke)'s friend Clyde and seves the world again and again and again.
