Resently we have set up an ‘environmental working group’ under the ‘Welfare’ committee in the Student Assosiation, we the SA to have ‘Environmental and Ethical’ concerns at its core and want this group have a higher priority by making it a Committee in its own right.
Why do we think there should be an Environmental and Ethical committee..
1. Fundimentally because we think ‘environmental and ethical’ concerns are important!
2. Because at the moment no one in the Student Assosiation is responsible for these ideas, so no one does very much!!
3. We don’t think the SA comunnicate enough with students about these ideas, and that its very difficult to communicate ideas with them.
4. At the moment scoieties and individuals can push the SA and the Univerisity to do environmental and ethical things, but this is not enugh, we think they should have an internal group to deal with these problems.
5. Other Unions have active E and E groups that have achieved lots of great things!!
6. We think ‘Environmental and Ethical’ concerns should be as important as sport and entertainment and other existing committees.
7. We think they should join up to ‘e and e’ style awards where the good work that is going on will be rewarded and continued.
If you think we should have an Environmental and Ethical commity then come and vote! We need 250 students to vote for an environmental representative.
