The wordiness was actually specified ("circumlocution", see Adam Nicolson's book on the KJV) by James I, that well-known soft touch for liberal causes (note that he failed to see the libertarian case for allowing people to smoke if they wanted to). Note also that principle 4, "Utilize Powerful Conservative Terms", links to another of Schlafly's crackpot projects, to prove that since 1612, "Powerful, insightful new conservative terms have grown at a geometric rate, roughly doubling every century" http://conservapedia.com/Essay:Best_New_Conservative_Terms _______________________________________________ WikiEN-l mailing list WikiEN-l@... Re: Wikipedia: "a liberal cesspool of fact-checking, sources and citations"So if you're verbose in the name of Liberalism, that's "wordy" and bad, but
if you're verbose in the name of Conservatism, that's "strong" and good? check. I'll remember that. I'd hate to be verbose for all the wrong reasons. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Sidaway" <tonysidaway@...> To: "English Wikipedia" <wikien-l@...> Sent: Tuesday, October 06, 2009 12:47 PM Subject: Re: [WikiEN-l] Wikipedia: "a liberal cesspool of fact-checking,sources and citations" > On 10/6/09, Charles Matthews <charles.r.matthews@...> wrote: >>> >> "Prefer Conciseness over Liberal Wordiness" is pretty good though >> (scroll down). > > That's a doozy. > > Note also that principle 4, "Utilize Powerful Conservative Terms", > links to another of Schlafly's crackpot projects, to prove that since > 1612, "Powerful, insightful new conservative terms have grown at a > geometric rate, roughly doubling every century" > > http://conservapedia.com/Essay:Best_New_Conservative_Terms > > _______________________________________________ > WikiEN-l mailing list > WikiEN-l@... > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, visit: > https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikien-l > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. Liberals too easily spend much time on trying to figure out what to create in place of God, and figuring out how to avoid stepping on the merry-go-round. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Tony Sidaway" >> On 10/6/09, Charles Matthews wrote: >> >>> "Prefer Conciseness over Liberal Wordiness" is pretty good though >>> (scroll down). >>> >> That's a doozy. >> >> Note also that principle 4, "Utilize Powerful Conservative Terms", >> links to another of Schlafly's crackpot projects, to prove that since >> 1612, "Powerful, insightful new conservative terms have grown at a >> geometric rate, roughly doubling every century" >> > _______________________________________________ WikiEN-l mailing list WikiEN-l@... Re: Wikipedia: "a liberal cesspool of fact-checking, sources and citations"It wasn't a distinction. It was intended as a joke.

These fellows are religious conservatives so conservatism for them means sticking with whatever they think their book tells them about the man in the sky. "Liberalism" in this view is literally a disease of the mind leading (again, literally) to perdition. If you think I'm laying it on too thick, see this: http://www.conservapedia.com/index.php?title=Liberal&oldid=698019 _______________________________________________ WikiEN-l mailing list WikiEN-l@...
