Has anyone had any trouble using Windows 7?  Just curious just installed
today and working flawless with Troopmaster and all of my other programs.  I
have to hand it Microsoft on this release, hasn't crashed yet and its only
been a week!

I have been running Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit with TroopMaster.NET with no
issues.  I have encountered minor little things with other applications.

just a tease but office 2010 is so much better than 2007 also. it's taken MC
years to finally get something correct.

Too bad MC is trying to copy Apple with this version though. Its not new
features, its just new to Windows! Sorry from getting away from the
Troopmaster discussion, but since Troopmaster can run on windows we are in
the same ballpark!

I think it helps that the source code got leaked on the internet -- a
lot of us Open Code types perused it pretty hard and recommended
improvements and fixes.  Hopefully it won't be as bloated at Vista and
XP -- I haven't received my two free copies yet. (Before anyone asks, no
I was NOT one of them, nor did I even see the code, but I did follow it
on some forums.)

I have been using Troopmaster on Windows 7 (the final version) for over a month with no problems what so ever. As a volume license holder, I got the "gold" version back in September. I used it with the beta versions as well with no problem. I also use TM with DotNet with no issues. I actually find it to be a touch faster on Win7 vs. XP. Overall, I find Win7 to be a bit faster and a bit more stable over XP. The user interface change is the toughest part, but worth it.

TM on Netbook?

Thanks to everyone posting experience with Win 7.

Does anyone have experience running TM on an Atom powered Netbook that they could share. Thinking of using my Scouting duties as an excuse for the next toy

If you or someone you know has a '.edu' email address (from a college or University), you can get a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium for only $29.99 (regular upgrade retail is $149.99). Get the details at: www.win741.com (click on the "Buy" section)
But here is a secret: when you get the confirmation email from Digital River (the company handling the student discounts for Microsoft), follow the link then look for "Need to join your school's network domain?" click that and your offer will change to Windows 7 Professional for $29.99 (regular upgrade retail $199.99).
(By the way, I in no way benefit from the above in any way, other that helping out my fellow scouters that is. Just passing on information I was able to take advantage of.)

RE: TM on Netbook?

I've run TM on a netbook with an Atom processor but under the XP operating
system. From what I've read on Win7, most netbooks would have to run the
Windows 7 Starter version. Other posts here indicate TM runs fine under Win7
on other platforms, so the assumption would be it should run under Win7
Starter on a netbook - but I'd really like to know myself, also!
