i think the dll in question is uccapi.dll, and wine searches the manifest in
directory 24 entry 1, when it is in entry 2.

can anyone upload a fixed dll that we could use until the wine team realeases a
version of wine that fixes this bug.

i think WLM is very used Windows Application and there should be an easy way to
run it (ie: without source patching).

That hack didn't improve things any, but the trace will be different obviously.

Log file generated by WINE on game crash

There seems to be a problem w/ wined3d call "basetexture_apply_state_changes".
When trying to run Shaiya (new, non-GameGuard version) the app crashes when
trying to load game UI. You can launch the app and log into account, but the
minute it starts to load the actual game, it crashes. I have attached the error
log I got during my last crash. Looking at the backtrace, it the crash seems to
be coming from basetexture_apply_state_changes+0xeb1() in wined3d (in d3d9).

You don't follow instructions, now you're using native comctl32 for some
reason.

Steps:
1. cd ~ && rm -rf .wine
2. install your program
3. 'cd' to directory where target executable is installed (in .wine)
4. run it with 'wine riomm.exe'

It's invalid. You have to cd to the directory where the file is first. For
example:

cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/pathofthefile

And then

wine riomm.exe

Hi Warren, that hack was for Don with his "direct2drive version ". I noticed
his log is different from yours. I'll have another look at your log , but i

The installation and launching works after installing dotnet30 and ie7 (with
winetricks).

I will attach the debug log so maybe someone would know the cause, i didn't use
any debug logs but i think there is some interesting information in it. If any
other debug must be done, ask me!

Tested in wine-1.1.33-404-gac85305, Word 2003 Pro.

The error message mentioned in comment #5 is gone, and Wine now opens the full
Equation Editor in a separate window when you select Insert=>Object=>Microsoft
Equation 3.0.

The problem is, this is not the way it works in Windows (tested in XP). In
Windows, selecting the Microsoft Equation 3.0 inserts a box in the original
document, and opens the Equation Editor toolbar. You can then enter the
equations directly in the box in the document, and when you close the toolbar,
the equation is still displayed in the document.

In Wine, because the Equation Editor opens as separate app, equations are
entered in the Equation Editor window, and they do not get inserted in the
original document.

Strange, i just reinstalled the game, even without your hack and now it
complains about missing xlive.dll, but i can't install it as it requires .NET
3.5 for the installer and simply copying the dll didn't work.

Will try using winetricks and the xlive installer.

Maybe it should but it doesn't :). Crashes the same way in native richedit
module.

That was the first thing I tried (both 2.0 and 3.2).
